William's Story
Life
After high school graduation, worked as bookkeeper at Co-op Transit on Wheeling Island and married Melody Smith from south end of the island in 1972. Drafted into US Army the same year. Served 2 years. Attended Belmont Tech and got a job in Gillette, WY in 1976. Eventually finished BS Degree through Ohio University. Two children (both boys and both married). One in Wyoming and one in Washington state. Two beautiful grandchildren, a girl, Kylie Elizabeth and a boy Cameron Joseph. Lived and worked in Wyoming for 27 y...Expand for more
ears as Health, Safety and Environmental Manager in the surface mining industry. Transfered to Australia in 2003 working for 3 years about 2.5 hours north of Sydney, still in the surface mining industry. In March 2006, accepted position of Regional Director HSE with Ports America, the largest marine cargo handling company in the US. Based in Iselin, NJ. Promoted in August 2006 to Corporate Director of HSE. Left Ports America in July 2007 to accept position of Director of Safety for Peabody Energy. Based in Flagstaff, AZ.
