Highlights:
Two daughters - Julie and Missy both living in Clarion, PA; one grandson, Todd, 11, and one granddaughter, Emily, 3. Both J&M graduated from Clarion University May, 2008. I'm proud!!
Remarried in 2008 to Hyeju Kang of Pyongtaek, Korea.

Military
Returned to active duty in the US Army in 1996 (previously served 1983-86) after finishing my 13th year of teaching as a high school band director, the final three at Punxsutawney Sr. High School, Punxsut...Expand for more
awney, Pennsylvania. Served as a trombone player 1996-97 in the 2nd Infantry Division Band in the Republic of Korea and was immediately selected to become an Army Bandmaster, having had previous National Guard experience as the Acting Commander and Bandmaster of the 28th ID (Mech)Band of the PA Army National Guard, 1994-96. After graduating from the Warrant Officer Candidate School (tougher than OCS - at age 40!), and completing the Warrant Officer Basic Course (Bandmaster) early, served as Commander/Bandmaster of the 282nd Army Band at Ft. Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina 1998-2002. Promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Two, December, 1999. Returned to Uijeongbu, Korea to take command of the 2 ID Band in 2002. Fell in love with Korea and her people and elected to extend the one year assignment, twice, commanding the band from 2002-2005. Promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Three in December, 2004. Reluctantly departed Korea in June, 2005 to take command of the US Army Medical Command Band at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, in July 2005. Left command in San Antonio in May, 2007 to retake command of the 2nd Infantry Division Band by choice. Promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 4 in August, 2008. Commander/Bandmaster of the Maneuver Center of Excellence Band, Ft. Benning, Nov 2009 to August, 2011. Returned for a third time (fourth overall assignment) of command of the 2nd Infantry Division Band in August 2011. Katchi Kapshida!
