William's Story

Life Served in the USAF from 1958-1978. In 1965 received Bacholors Degree, at USAF expense, from U of Omaha (now U of Nebraska at Omaha). After 14 yrs in Chantilly VA, moved to Las Vegas in 1985 and have been a Realtor since 1994. School Entered Central High in Jan 1950 and graduated in Jan 1954. Played Tackle on Football team with Norm Wanger (Deceased) at the other Tackle. Let's face it, in those years we didn't have such a great team. We won a game, now and then, but lost more than we won. I was the Student Manager for the 1952 Baseball State Champions. As the Student Manager I kept score and was an all "gofer" for the team. <grin> I also played Trombone in the Band. Except for the classes I took, I didn't participate in other non-curricular activities. College Attended Culver-Stockton College started Sep '54 attended thru Jun '56. Worked a year then returned to CS-C Sep '57-Jun 58 played football on team that is in the CS-C Sports Hall of Fame. After completing my Junior year I was "broke" and did not graduate from CSC, but according to CSC I'm considered as being in the Class of 1959. Highlights of my CSC years were; 1. Met & Married wife, Eunice, in 1956. She was a Senior at Canton HS and lived with her grandparents and sister, Penny. 2. I was on the football team. 3. eta Nu fraternity, now a chapter of the Ta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Workplace Upon retirement from the USAF (Aug 1978) was hired by Science Applications International Corp (SAIC). Worked on a number of programs in support of the US Navy and USAF. In 1985 SAIC moved me to Las Vegas as Deputy Project Manager for several USAF/USN contracts. After these contracts were completed (1987) I was reassigned to a SAIC contract in support of the Yucca Mountain Project (Nuclear High Level Waste Storage). Worked in Purchasing and Computer Support activities. My function was contracted out in 1994 and I began my Real Estate career in the fall of 1994. I've been a Realtor in the Las Vegas, NV area since that time and enjoy the business of helping people. Military Enlisted in the USAF Aug 8, 1978. After completion of Tech School @ Keesler AFB (KAFB), Mississippi sen to Hamilton AFB, CA (Navato, CA). In December of 1962 was commissioned a 2Lt after graduating from the USAF Officer Candidate School (Class 63B). After another Tech School @ KAFB was stationed at Blytheville AFB, AR from '63-'65. A tour at Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines ('66-'68) with a number of trips into Southeast Asia. Sent back to KAFB for another Tech School then to Altus AFB, OK ('68-71). On to the USAF Frequency Managemet Center for a 12 month course of training. SEVEN years later I retired from the USAF (August 1978).
