William's Story

Life After graduation I joined the Navy, took a cruise to Vietnam on the USS Paul Revere,came back to Nuclear Power School, got kicked out of there and then got kicked out of the Navy(darn!). Came home, got married and started driving a truck. Took a dispatching job in Vancouver, Wa. That Co. folded so took a dispatching job in Casper, Wy.(I shoulda looked at the map first-Casper is a looooong way from Jackson Hole). That job was really lousy so I quit and came back home. Got a job driving for Airborne, had two great kids (Jacob is 28 and in the Army and just returned from his third tour in Iraq and he is stationed in El Paso, Brad is 26 and put himself through college playing baseball. Now he is a substitute teacher and college baseball coach in Bakersfield. Got divorced in 85 and remarried in 87. New wife Linda came wi...Expand for more
th two kids attached (Damon is 30 and Melissa is 26). We used to live in Lynnwood. I drove for Airborne(now DHL) for 29 years and am now retired in Idaho where I am trying to live my life's ambition of being a ski bum. Shoulda done it when I was younger and my knees worked better. BC P.S. The picture is from my retirement party in July 2007. Since then I returned to work in Idaho where I build coffee roasters and continue to ski as much as possible when I'm not in the hospital having a heart attack and a triple bypass. I guess it's time to update this. We sold our house in Idaho and now we are living the next chapter of the adventure. We are living on the road in our RV and playing the snowbird game in the winter. Gondola at OHSU- makes me feel like I’m skiing at Jackson Hole instead of hanging around the hospital in Portland🙁

Last day of radiation therapy and installation of chemo port-starting chemotherapy tomorrow. Not looking forward to the next couple weeks. Still feeling good though and Linda is here all the way
Just don’t have enough cars in the driveway so I had to get one of these. 2016 Mazda Miata. Been a long time since I owned a sports car 😁
Didn’t think it would ever happen but I took the Miata to the beach. I love driving on the smooth sand! It’s just so soft getting down there.
