William's Story

Graduate of University of Southern Miss '69. Currently living in H'burg (OG) semi-retired in '92 but I've been operating my own business since, printing and designing all types of business forms. Prior to that I worked for a major company for 20 years doing the same before retiring with them in Atlanta. I am married and have four children and three grandchildren. My oldest son born in 68, graduate of USM living and working on the MS Gulf Coast with his wife, daughter and two step-daughters. My oldest daughter born in 74, works for MS State University and is a graduate of MSU '96, she also attended her first year of college at USM where she was a Dixie Darling. She and her husband, a Baptist minister have two children and live outside Starkville, MS. My youngest son born in '77 lives ...Expand for more
and works in H'burg and is single. In 1980 I married my wife Barbara, a native of Sumrall, MS in 1980. We have one daughter born in '83,who attended Mississippi State University and USM. She currently works for a subsidiary of a bank in Hattiesburg part/time and is single.She is a licensed realtor in Miss. and working in that field part/time. My adoptive father, Gene Conner was killed in Viet Nam in 1968. Gene taught ROTC at USM so some of you will probably remember him. When our family transferred here for Gene to teach ROTC, is when I entered high school at Sacred Heart. My natural father Bill (retired military) and step-mother live in NC. My brother, Rudy was killed in a train/car accident at Kessler in Biloxi in 1971. My mother Betty passed away in 2004 after a battle with cancer.
