William's Story
Life
I have been living in Indianapolis since August of 1998.
School
I chose to not go to college. There may be potential for continuing education in the not too distant future though. No real regrets. I know I would have benefitted, but I've also had a lot of great life experiences and on-the-job experiences.
Workplace
My time with CVS ended in May of 2007. Long story, let's not go there. I had a great run. Worked on a lot of special projects, gained a lot of experience. In the end, it just ended up not being where I was going to work for the rest of my working years.
After a 10 month break, I got a job at a medical device company, PTS, Inc. I started out temping in the accounting department and was subsequently hired on as Documentation Control Coordinator, which is part of Quality Assurance. It has become a very challenging position that, with a few hiccups, has proven to be very fulfilling...Expand for more
and also has proven that there is life after retail/CVS. Something that a lot of former CVS'ers showed me, but I was afraid to even consider.
Our company is growing, and my position is an integral part of that growth, which offers some stress, but gives me more drive to work harder for more and to learn more.
If you want to know what I do, the next time you're at your local drug store look for the CardioChek brand analyzer. We make that meter as well as the test strips that work along with it. Chances are I had my hand in the making of the meter or box of strips sitting on the shelf. :)
How do I blow off steam?
Lately, mostly I cook and try new recipes. Every once in a while, I'll get a few cocktails in me and get my karaoke on. :)
The wildest thing I ever did in school?
I think I took part in senior skip day...we went to Hampton. Yeah, I know, wild guy. But that was a big deal for me. :)
