Loretta's Story

Loretta's schools include Slaton High School. One of Loretta's favorite quotes is:"My Last Will and Testament - If I Could To children everywhere of every age and nation... If I could... I would leave you a country like the one I grew up in. I would leave you bright summer mornings where you wake up to the smell of freshly mowed grass. Or a morning where you are awakened by the sound of birds' singing carried by a gentle breeze blowing through you open bedroom window. I would leave you with schools where you were expected to learn what was put before you and no foolishness was tolerated for the sake of all who are trying to learn. I would leave you teachers that taught that your rights ended when they infringed on those of another. I would leave you a school where everyone believed in the sovereignty of the Nation they happily and sincerely pledged allegiance to. I would leave you a country where the majority of the able bodied men and women were eager to defend a nation they had respect for and complete faith in. I would leave you family dinners, innocent date nights, and walks in the park even after dark. I would leave you domino or card nights where the family drank coffee and everyone returned to their own home safely. I would leave you jokes that didn't need to be told away from the kids. I would leave you Sunday mornings at church with your family. I would leave you with familiar hymns that every family member knew by heart. I would leave you the security of setting beside your family knowing that this is the way God meant it to be. I would leave you a home where you have two parents to help answer the myriad of questions life will bring our way. I would leave you a mother and a father because that is the only way you are created. I would leave you with at least one set of loving grandparents so that you would be able to learn patience and wisdom. I would leave you with a brother and a sister so that you would know the love and aggravation of family in your youth as well as the security and unity of family in your older years. I would leave you a small government because that is why we came here 400 years ago. I would leave you wise elected officials that honestly listen to and cherish the values of ...Expand for more
the citizens who placed them in office. I would leave you a president to lead your nation that understands the weight and responsibility of the office he has been entrusted with. I would leave you growing churches with wise Bible-based preaching. I would leave you at least one real friend that will be by your side throughout your life. I would leave you real love. Love that is created for each of you by God above and carried to you in the arms of the man or woman that He created just for you. I would leave you a desire for truth and honesty in all things. I would leave you fairness, justice, and freedom for all the days that you give it to others. I would leave you only enough heartache to know how joy feels, enough pain to know the power of healing, enough sadness to know true joy and enough lineless to appreciate the companionship of your fellow man. Because I cannot leave you these things, I will apologize that I allowed someone else to speak louder than me, to work harder than me, and to garner more support for their cause than I did for mine. But, know this, it is all still there. I have not quit yet! It is not a dream or a pleasant fiction from the mind of a mournful mother. It is still there for us to fight for, to work towards, and to gather support for. Then my generation, along with you and your children, will be able to undo the ugliness and sin that has been allowed to spread across our nation in the name of tolerance and political correctness. Therefore... I will leave you the Bible In it you will find for yourself.... The promises that got me through many dark nights… The love of the one and only God in heaven, earth or anywhere that can be The love that only a true father can give to His child The security that knowing Him brings to your life The peace that passes all understanding The assurance of life forever in His company beyond all the trials of this sinful world The knowledge of right and wrong, good and evil, peace and war The power of the Word of God alone AND The forgiveness and salvation we are all offered by the Grace of God and the blood of Jesus Christ alone. May God bless you all in riches that only the heart can measure just as you each have done for me.".
