William's Story
Joined the Marines in June 1963 and went on active duty in late August 1963. Attended aircraft communication and navigation electronics school in Memphis for one year and then served with VMA-533 and VMA-242 at Cherry Point, NC until mid 1966. Spent last half of 1966 and eight months in 1967 with helicopter squadron HMM-362 (Ugly Angels) in Vietnam mainly at Ky Ha, about 4 miles from Chu Lai. Was on board USS Iwo Jima for a couple of sweeps along the coast of Vietnam in operations and then some R&R in Subic Bay in the Philippines. - what a wonderful person!! Owned Dunkin Donuts on West Washington Street for four years - sold 1983. Started current business in 1984 and still operating it but thinking about retiring and doing some traveling. Sure miss the good ole days at BD and Brownsburg HS, rock n roll music and the fun lives we led in the 50's and 60's. What a great time!!! I have truly enjoyed my life!!!
Wife passed away in June of 2016. Sure miss her! Still running the business and doing some traveling and whatnot. Back to bowling again too.. Got in with a group of guys who grew up in Bridgeport and have breakfast together on Wednesday mornings and tell tall tales!!
