Life 40 plus years and it only seems like yesterday. After High school I attended Pepperdine University, only stayed there a year studying speech psychology. Not sure what I wanted to do I returned to Oakland and attended Layne Trade and took courses in electronics with a touch of radio broadcasting techniques. Worked in a gas station where some of the “Sultan Rod and Custom” club members and I could work on our cars. Lost that job, and stumbled into the employment office of Pacific Telephone. They put me to work in the central office as a frame technician. I finished the electronic courses at Laney and continued with business management courses and finally got a degree in 1968, lot’s of night school. Got married to Kathleen Ward (of Castro Valley 1962) in 1967 and son David was born January 1968, Daughter Donna (named after my mother) was born July 29, 1969.
