Moved to Palm Springs in November, 1976.
Married Kathy in Palm Springs in March, 1980.
We have three children: Kara, Willy & Joey.
Kara worked on the hill in Washington D.C. for our Congresswoman, Mary Bono-Mack; she left D.C. in December 2006 and currently resides in NYC preparing for grad school. She attended UCSD and Oral Roberts University securing a BA in Theology and Ethics. She is the owner of a small, but sucessful, dog walking business on Manhattan. Her business allows her to travel abroad often: She just returned from South Africa where she attended the FIFA World Cup. Machu Pichu in 2009, India and Costa Rica in 2008! Her travels exceed any that I have taken!
Willy graduated from UCI, Class of 2009. He is my Poli-Sci guy. He visited Spain where he completed his studies and travels throughout Europe. He completed an internship at one of California's largest law firms and is currently preparing to attend Law School in the fall of 2010.
Joey graduated UPENN, Class of 2010, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE).
Major: Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics
Minor: Mathematics
Minor: Classical Studies.
His dedication to learning is impressive. He completed a 2009 summer internship with an areo-space engineering firm in Southern California.
Kathy is the owner and manager of an independently operated escrow company. She is active in her church and bible studies. She is a 1999 Athena Award recipient from the PS Chamber of Commerce.

I am great supporter of community and created three parades for PS:
The Festival of Lights Parade is a holiday event held on the first Saturday in December...at night! All entries are required to be decorated with holiday lights. It is an annual tradition that starts our Christmas season and draws over 70,000 attendees!
The PS Homecoming Parade was created to allow K-12 students from public, private and home schools to participate in this event. It is held in downtown PS with school banners lini...Expand for more
ng the street. There are over 3,500 students in this annual event.
The PS Veterans Day Parade is held on November 11th. We have representatives from every branch of the armed services. Our guests include Medal of Honor Recipients, Pearl Harbor Survivors, Tuskegee Airmen, numerous Veterans organizations and local HS-ROTC and scout groups. There have been flyovers of the B-17, B-25, P-38 and Mustangs (from the PS Air Museum). Modern aircraft include F/A-18 Hornet, F-117 Stealth Fighter and the B-2 Stealth Bomber. It is an event to celebrate and thank The Great American Veteran!
In mid 2007, after four years, I stepped down as the Chairman of the National Alternate Fuel and Vehicle Conference and Expo. We dealt with alternate fuels and vehicles and the technologies that will help to clean our air and lessen our nation's reliance on (imported) oil. My own vehicle is fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG). I have been driving an alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) since 1998.
I recently resigned from the Board of Directors for Sunrise Community Bank in Palm Desert, California after our bank consolidated with other Southern California banks.
My current interests involve studying world and American history and following international politics.
I enjoy collecting, studying and archiving historical documents, photos and letters dealing with the history of Palm Springs, California.
My favorite book is the dictionary.
My "other" favorite book is a cookbook. I am always looking for some good to eat!
I spent as much time as I can in my kitchen preparing meals for family and friends! You should try my Cioppino, veal scaloppini or fruit-stuffed pork roast with apple cider gravy. I might prepare a cheese sauce or two, or maybe a sweet creamy carrot soup or Posole (Mexican soup with pork and homney). I will even make the bread for each meal!
Pleasures range from golfing to gardening. I'm better at gardening!
Although, I just returned from my annual golf trip with a group of my close friends. We have attened this yearly event for 24 years!
Our family vacationed in Italy & visited Sicily. We happened to be in Naples when Italy won the 2006 World Cup; now that's how to party! While visiting Sicily we found my ancestor's home towns, many distant relatives and we walked the streets of my grandparents. It was here that my kids made an emotional connection with their own heritage and ancestors! It showed in their faces.
Our Pastor organized a church group to visit Israel in October, 2008. Kathy and I joined him to experience the wonderful past of this incredible region. Israel is rich in historical, cultural, spiritual and biblical wealth. It is distinct, humbling and awe-inspiring.
In August, 2009, we had a family vacation with all three of our "adult children" (now that is a reality shocker that I'm old enough to have children that are adults!). We visited the US Virgin Islands. Our main island was St. Thomas. We arrived as hurricane Ana was leaving and hurricane Bill moved north of us. No real weather problems! The Caribbean has such beautiful beaches.
Christmas 2009 was in NYC with the kids. We drove upstate and spent Christmas with Dad (91 years old in January 2010) and my brother's (Henry and Joe) families.
Kathy and I are preparing for our return trip on an Alaskan Cruise through the inland passage; with stops in Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka, We will once again visit Hubbard Glacier to see and hear the calfing ice crash into the ocean.
Our greatest joy as a family is to be with each other, we love each other so much.
