William Gallagher:  

Life MARRIED 49 YEARS: Helga "Elisabeth" Landberg, a wonderful Norwegian lady, born in Cairo, Egypt carried in her mother's womb while riding a camel. Liz lived in Brooklyn during WWII while her father was an engineer on a Norwegian Freighter. Cancer took his life when Liz was 6 years old. At the young age of 19, Liz traveled to the U.S. across the Atlantic on a Norwegian Freighter. She and 3 other Norwegian gals wnt rode a Greyhound seeing more of the U.S. than I ever will.. Her mother Laura followed her to the U.S. and met a Norwegian gentleman on a ship, married this partner owning a Lumber mill who cooked for the entire camp in Prince George. Laura and Jens Johansen lived the rest of their lives in West Vancouver, Gibsons and Port Coquitlam, British Colombia. WORK HISTORY: After graduating from USF-1962, I played 2 years of semi-pro baseball while working with U.S. Postal service. In 1964 Bill hired on with Victor Welding Co. as a Marketing Assistant; Liz and I met in S.F. same year. while both worked at Victor. We married after a short 3 month courtship, honeymooned in the snow for two weeks at a beautiful Swiss Chalet at Dollar Point, South Lake Tahoe. We lived in Terra Linda apartment 1964. Upon promotion to Customer Service Manager, we relocated to Denton Texas. We left Victor in May 1966 relocating back to California. I was an Administrative Assistant for Kaiser Gypsum & Building Materials 1966 -67. After many years of seeing the light at the end of the commute tunnel on Waldo Grade in Marin County and bridging over the Golden Gate and San Rafael/Richmond Bridges , I joined the City of Santa Rosa Public Works staff. We moved 1968 from Terra Linda for Santa Rosa in Rincon Valley. After 37.5 years of service (27 years in parking administration (Transit and Parking Department), I retired from the City of Santa Rosa, May 2003. Two Daughters: Santa Rosa H.S.Santa Rosa Junior College, Santa Rosa Neptunes Swim Team: Gayle U.C. Davis 1992 and Susan U.C. Santa Barbara, 1991. Susan (Kurt Hawkyard) and Ricky (11) Gayle (Robb Larsen, orthpedic surgeon, with the Navy in Kuwait); Rachel (13), Amber (12) & Loren (7) & Mackenzie (6),. 2006 t moved to Eugene, Oregon as Robb joins private orthopedic practice 7 years. Girls are active in basketball, swimming, soccer, gymnastics and track. Rachel is a very successful age-group swimmer, Amber is statechampion at Level 5 Gymnastics. both making great progress moving up the success ladder. ...Expand for more
