Upon graduation from High School in 1941, moved from Wichita to Topeka KS where I first worked as a Bank
Messenger. Subsequently 15 Sep 1941, obtained employment in the Freight Claim Department of Santa Fe Railway Headquarters in Topeka. Worked until I enlisted in US NAVY
15 Nov 1942. Served in WWII through Feb 1946. Then returned to Freight Claim Department in Topeka where I retired from as Manager Freight Claims in 1981 after nearly 40 years, three of which were attending Washburn University in Topeka where I obtained BBA Degree in 1954, majors in Accounting and Economics.

in Nov 1942 in US NAVY and was assigned to Naval Cadet Selection Board, Naval Air Primary Command, KCMO where I remained until transferred to Fighter Squardon, VF6, at Naval Air Station, Sanford, FL. Remained there until ordered overseas via
San Francisco embarkment for Pearl Harbor, Hawaii assigned to CASU 1 and later received orders to report to the support Staff of Commander Carrier Transport Squadron, Pacific Fleet, under Command of Rear Admiral Samuel P. GINDER, USN. Finished out my Naval service on the staff and retuned to continental US for separation at Great Lakes Naval Station in late February 1946.
