William's Story
After graduating from St. Francis, I attended Archmere Academy just over the border in Claymont, DE, then Swarthmore College, and earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry at Univ. California Berkeley in 1988. In 1985 I married Amanda Cheetham, who grew up in Middletown between Media and Linvilla. We have 3 children, one grown and two in college, one of them is attending Swarthmore College now. I joined the faculty at MIT in 1997, for more on my career and research into chemical kinetics and fuel chemistry see web.mit.edu/greengp

after we were all grown my parents moved back to Springfield. My mom lives in Springfield today, she is still very active in the League of Women Voters. My father died in early 2013. He had a long career leading the main Radiology group in Delaware County for many years. He worked mostly at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, but also at several other local hospitals including Springfield Hospital. My aunt, Elsa Roellig, is a parishioner at St. Francis now, and works part-time as a substitute teacher in the Springfield public schools.
