William's Story
Life
Work for Williams Interanational Quality department. Going on 28 years. To long at one job. But the company has been good to me. What I really like to do is teach dance. Competed for a while with my wife Ella. We quit because we wanted to stay married. The competition was no problem it was the prep work in getting there. Love West Coast Swing and Night Club 2. Started in Ballroom, danced Country Western and mover to Swing and Salsa. Worked with the Weber State Ballroom company for a while. Coached competitors for a while. Have a Dance Studio in my home. Attend Dance camps when I can. The dance floor we have in the house is great.
My other love is "projects around the house". Learned a lot from HGTV, and Landscaping. It seems that Ella and I have a project going all year long. We usually build for the grandkids. Basketball count in the backyard plenty of summer parties when we are in town.
We love to decorate for Christmas. We start in Oct. Every other year we have an open house. Invite friends, family and a whole bunch of dance friends to the house. On the off year we have a few special friends over. We are changing the style every year so that that everyother year thing allows our friends to see a lot of change. ell as the inside is decorated. We have had as many as 13 decorated Christmas trees in the house including a 12' foot one in the family room, a black Christmas tree and theme trees in Star Trek, Frogs, Snowmen, etc.
As of 2007 we have 12 grandchildern between Ella and I and one great grandchild. At Christmas they come in waves. For us Christmas starts a week before the 25th and runs through the end of the year. Oh and we do leave up the decorations until the end of Jan.
Ella is retired from HAFB and I hope to follow soon. We really can't move to far away, family. But we have a 2nd family in the dance world which spans from the east to the west coast and into Canada.
The only other thing I love to do is golf. I hope I will be able to play for another 50 years. Not as good as I would like to be but love to play.
Hope to hear from my friends, oh and I did find one that I went to school with in 5th grade at Graystone in Mobile, Ala. Harriet Brown. This was great and hope to connect with others.
