William's Story
Life
I have been married to my best friend, Marci, for over 18 years now. We have two boys who are 15 and 10 years old. In 1999 I went to Boliva to work at a Christian school in the Amazon jungle and Marci went to Zambia Africa. The HIV/AIDS epidemic really touched Marci's heart. So in 2000 we visited Zambia together and decided we needed to try and make a difference. In 2002 we left our jobs and joined Christian World Outreach and moved to Ndola, Zambia. We work with street guys (grown street kids 20-35 years of age) and street kids. They do different jobs to get enough money to survive. These are good guys wrapped up in really hard lives. xams we have waiting lists to get in. Currently we have 2000 books, with another 8000 on the way. This year we (CWO) have been able to buy land to build a new library/offices on. When it is complete we will have room for a total of 20,000 books and hopefully no more waiting lists to get in. Marci educates about HIV/AIDS. We have spent our time here getting to know the culture. This information combined with Marci's medical knowledge makes her an increadible teacher. She teaches in the schools, the Zambian police camps (We are offical partners with the Zambian Police Services), small groups and in the churches. I teach different subjects (like computers) at local schools.
