William's Story
Dropped out of high school and became one of those long haired hippie types out kids study in history class. Hitch hiked back and forth across Canada for two years. Got serious and became a Christian around 19 and came back and finished 2.5 years of high school in 9 months. Surprised the heck out of my parents! Went to Seminary and pastored churches for 25 years in Ontario. Also developed real estate and made a few bucks during that time. Married in 1980 awesome wife and 4 great kids. Four granddaughters already! In 2006 at the ripe old age of 50 decided to try something different. I have great memories of growing up in Byron when kids could roam all day with no parents having to worry about perverts etc. Have a few bad memories but I forget them :) If you remember the small guy with the big attitude drop a line! Was at Southwood when E.C Steer was the Bossman. We had "Whitie" for sports and he could hit a baseball like Babe Ruth! We had daily Bible readings, prayer, weekly assemblies where we sang hymns and once a week religion classes by a local Protestant Pastor. All this is now banned along with the Gideon's Bibles. Sad really! Now the kids swear ( I got the strap once for saying BS) and bring knives and guns to school. Much better now I suppose!
