William's Story
I attended numerous schools as a young person, starting with the first grade in Agra, KS. For the second grade I attended Central School in Greeley, CO and a school near LaSalle CO. I started the 3rd grade back in Agra, KS and finished in a Erkenbeck school near Johnstown CO, also started 4th grade there, but finished in Minneapolis KS.
I also attended 5th and most of 6th grade in Menneapolis. I then transferred to Hawthorn School in Salina KS and completed most of my remaining years in Salina until half way thru my Senior year when we moved to Mcpherson where I graduated from High Schoil on May 19, 1948.
After High school I worked at a number of jobs including McPherson Daily Republican/Sentinel. I then went to Central College for a semester and drove for McPherson Cab Company for about six months when with my folks help purchased it and ran it till 1961 when I went to Chicago. rned to Chicago and went to work for Comptons' Encyclopedia, where I met the girl I would marry. We married in Orizaba VER Mexico (her home town) and moved back to Chicago. I left Comptons to get work in Data Processing. we adopted a little girl in 1968, and I worked in the Chicago area till 1995 in Data Processing and retired and moved to Florida. My wife passed away on my 67th birthday of Cancer. Today I'm living with my daughter, her husband and their five children aged 7 to 22 in Ashwaubenon (Green Bay,) WI. In the past year I have been in the hospital numerous times, for problems from losing a Kidney, a Hernis, to Skin Cancer, my two grandsons had the Swine Flu, but got over it without any problems (rev.11-4-2009) You can check out my timeline to see where all I've lived.
(Rev. 4-15-2011) -I am currrently living with my daughter in Ashwabenon , WI after spending several months in a nursing home. i have been diagnosed with 'End Stage Heart Disease' and 'Heart Failure' I am 81 years old and under the care of Hospice.
