William's Story
Life
I live in New Kensington and have been married for 35 years! I have two daughters ages 27 & 28 and two grandsons, Jesse who is 8 and Logan who is 7 months old. I retired from the State Police in 2005 and am now a preacher with Ambassador Baptist Church in Millvale. I also spent 5 years on the teaching staff at Harvest Baptist academy. My ministry has taken me to Homeless Missions, Prisons, Drug Rehabs, High Rises and Nursing Homes. My wife Maria is a nurse in the Emergency Room at Allegheny Valley Hospital. I would love to hear from any fellow 74 Burrell grads. Once in every era a voice boldly rings out, declaring truth, peeling away the veneer of deception, speaking for an entire generation of those who desperately long for authenticity. A man who will blazon the cause of candor and frankness, unafraid of repercussions from those who recoil from a fear of reality. My friends, I humbly declare to you that I AM THAT MAN. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mr. Deluca, because His enthusiasm for teaching and for history has made me a lifelong student and a History teacher.. Since coming to Christ in 1978 life has been wonderful! It hasn't been problem free but I have a new perspective now.
I always wanted to be a Baseball Player when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a quixotic idea. As it turns out, they were right.

If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, prayer, and gospel music to be able to deal with the day-to-day stresses.I enjoy watching the Yankees on TV and in person. I am obsessed with Pop Tarts and reading.
You can lead your kids to life, but you can't make them think!
My current age is 54. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be senile. I was so completely... what was the question?.
I think that the fact that I spent several years as President of a shelter for Homeless Veterans as well as preaching 60 sermons a year and teaching classes 6 days a week would be quite a shock to those who knew me back then.
I have retired from 2 professions and am working on a third. I may end up Pastoring a church or teaching for the rest of my usable life. Either would make me very happy.
I share my home with 3 Yorkies and my wife and daughter, which I can find if I look hard enough.
In 10 years, I hope to be continuing in ministry. I'm going to get there by trusting in Christ..
My first job was at Save More Gas Station, where I got paid 2.25/Hr. to smell like gasoline. What I remember most about it is gas rationing by license plate number which I completely ignored.I thought that you gave gas on alternate days to the people who were odd!!
I remember when I was about 5 years old, my friend Kevin and I would go into peoples houses who weren't home and see what goodies they had to eat. We would make PBJ sandwiches and drink milk and then go to the next house for dessert.
I think that you can get 12-18 months for that now.
