joined the US Army in 1969. He went through Basic Training at Fort Polk, LA and was later stationed at Fort Wolters, TX, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Fort Belvoir, VA before going to Germany (881LEM Co; 81st Maint. Battalion in Hanau).
