Workplace
I entered college right after graduation. At the end of my sophomore year I enlisted in the US Army (Military Police) with assigments at Ft. Brag, NC, Ft. Gordon, Ga, Vietnam and Ft. Meade, Md. In 1970 I was sworn in as a Police Officer with the Washington DC police Department. One year later I resigned and went back to college. I finished my last two years in 18 months and upon graduation I was sworn in as a Police Officer with the Prince George's County PD in Maryland. days later I was appointed a Special Agent with the US Department of Transportation where I provide security for the Secretary of transportation. I retired from DOT in June of 2004. In September of 2004 I joined FEMA's DAE (Disaster Assistant Employee Cadre as a reservist) which is part time position. Now working as a Security Manager responsible for the safety and security of FEMA employees and their assets when a Presidential Disaster is declared. It is not as part time as I wanted and time will only tell how much longer I continue in this position. It is time to smell the roses and enjoy real retirement.
