William's Story
Life
Am a very lucky Irishman. Married to the only woman in this world who not only loved, but put up with almost everything my wild mind could conceive. When she didn't I would stop. She stopped me very few times, and was always right.
Prior to marriage my net worth was mostly contained in a single suitcase and a wallet. I loved the Mexican sun and art. Lived in La Esturina, on Calle Uruguay. Last time I checked it was still there.
Had several crazy friends. Thank god for crazy friends!
Come to think of it, even normal friends were great.
Hated formal education before I was 18. (Sorry Mrs. Lord. You tried.) Loved everything after, and became a professional student. (bum). My only mistake was thinking ...Expand for more
I was mentally stable enough to try the submarine service. I was, but barely. A year in the Mexican sun saved me. Met my future wife there. Thank you Lord!
The birth of my daughter changed my life. I could not let her go hungry, so worked (sold out)until she, and my two sons completed college. A very normal middle class life, including sixteen years in Saudi Arabia.
I retired in 1994. My wife passed away in 2003. My years with that woman were the best I could have dreamed.
Am in the process of selling a house in San Antonio, Texas that is now much too large. Think I shall buy a houseboat, as I love the water. Have a home in Mexico, and about 2000 Mexican relatives, so will most likely stay sane. Maybe not!
