d there was a lot of work. While working the night shift, I was attending West Valley Junior College, taking electronics courses to suplement my hobby knowlege. After a year of that, my IBM manager signed me up for a technical job and I started working on computer systems as a tech. I started with the 1800 process control system in San Jose. When that started downhill, a bunch of us transferred to Kingston, NY, to work on the 360 mainframes. After five years of that, I transferred back to San Jose to be closer to family and worked on the 3800 printer systems, again as a tech. While on that job, I had assignments teaching and in the software development area. I moved on to laboratory technical and software work in the late 70's. After my project was cancelled, I moved on to microcode work on controllers, then into the IT area working on VM on mainframe systems. During that time, I started working with Lotus/Notes and learned that on my own. When the mainframe systems declined, I moved on to officially work with Lotus/Notes, working on designing, installing, and maintaining Lotus/Domino server infrastructures, first for internal, then external customers. I currently work at home, maintaining Lotus/Domino servers and doing administrative work on them. Military In 1965, at the height of the Vietname War, I was pretty close to getting drafted. Since I had placed well in the Air Force aptitude tests given in High School, I elected to enlist in the Air Force. After going through the initial physicals and being sent to Lacklund Air Force Base in Texas (one of the few bases without a runway), my childhook asthma started kicking up again. Little wonder. I'm alergic to just about any pollen you can name, and I was in Texas in May at the height of the pollen season. They sent me home after six weeks int he Air Force.
