Willie Mae's Story
I married Royce (Dink) Brooks in 1947.
We have two children, Linda and Kevin. Linda was born in 1949 in
Dumas, Texas. Kevin was born in Amarillo in 1955.
In 1965, I graduated from W.T in Canyon with a teaching certificate.
I taught third grade in Amarillo for 2 and a half years; then we moved to Austin Texas
where Royce could finish out his career working as a civil engineer at the air base.
I continued teaching until midterm of 1984-85; then subbed in the elementary libraries for several years.
We lost Royce in 1994, and I was blessed with a second Christian husband, Bob Pharis in 1996.
We had almost 10 years together before he passed.
This past October, I married Jim Foster, a retired RVICS, Roving Volunteer In Christ's Service, he is a long time acquaintance and had lost his wife two years earlier.
Linda became a science teacher, married and had Patrick. Patrick is married and has a lovely wife, Megan.

married and had three children, Chad, Julie and Clint.
He and their mom divorced after 25 years, and he married a wonderful Christian lady that he had know for sometime.
Both of them retired from the Austin fire department as Captains.
This past year Clint and his wife, Aaron gave me my first Great Grand daughter; Jordan Lee; then this year Julie and her Danny had Dylan Ray, another precious baby girl..
Jim has continued keeping his mobile home in the RVICS Village in Smithville, Texas, but we are enjoying residing at my place in the country a few miles from town.
Like everyone we know we, too, stay busy with family, friends, and church activities.
Jim teaches a Sunday School class of older couples and singles and I have the oldest ladies class.
I continue to stay in touch with former class mates and have been able to attend our Home Coming events
through out the years.
