Willie's Story
Life
Hey,
I'll start after Central High and Valdez High School. I worked on the Alaska pipeline then went to Jr. College in Bakersfield and Fresno, Ca. In 1974, I went to college at Southern California College (now Vanguard University) and graduated in '77 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies/Pastoral Care. Being a lifetime student, I continued there for a couple of years working on a Psych and Sociology degree, but got tired of school before finishing those degrees. For those fellow Valdez Buccaneers, yes I did become a minister. ;-)
I then worked for Louisiana Pacific Lumber company until 1984 when I moved to Sydney, Australia to help start a college of Theology and the Arts. I was there until 1988 when I returned to take care of my Dad until he died in 1990. The early 90's found me in the Eugene, Oregon area until 1996 when I returned to Australia to work at another college. During these four years I also got a Graduate Diploma in Christian Counselling, and a Diploma in Theology. (kind of a glutton for punishment I guess). Returning ...Expand for more
to the U.S. in 2000, I taught in an elementary school (5th grade) in the S.F. Bay area for 3 years, and then returned to school for a year getting my California Teaching Credential. I returned to the classroom, as a teacher, for one more year before moving to Texas, where we now live. Oh yeah, I guess I neglected to mention that after having dated women who were too smart to become seriously involved, I finally met someone who, while not really appreciating it, can at least ignore my sense of humor. So, Marianne and I were married in 2003.
Those of you in Valdez and S.C.C. might be interested to know that I still have that 1968 Pontiac GTO. I just don't get rid of things easily.

Since the above novel, we have moved to the Dallas, TX area, where I am trying to get hired as an elementary school teacher. Something to fit my intellectual and humor level.
