Woodrow's Story
Life
I couldn't wait to leave home after graduation, but my father was dying with cancer so I stayed home and helped take care of him and my mother until he died. I then moved to Gainesville and attended SFCC and UF. I made some great friends that I have now been friends since1988. We all go on vacation together once a year for a week and have a blast. We made it a rule that we are not allowed to bring dates, spouses or signifigant others, it's our time to share and catch-up on the past year.
I'm currently living in Jacksonville, I recieved a pretty good promotion and raise to move here so I couldn't really say no. Besides all that, the person I was seeing for the year prior to moving lived here in Jacksonville. We've broken up since I moved here, but I'm still loving life in Jacksonville and have met quite a few friends here as well. I play volleyball at the beach every Monday evening with a group of about 30 friends, we have a blast and all go swimming and out to eat after volleyball. I workout atleast 3 times each week and do cardio every morning and evening. I've become a new person through all the growing I've done through the years. I've learned that what other people think of me doesn't matter nearly as much as what I think of m...Expand for more
yself. I have learned to love myself and let the rest go. I have now accepted a position as a Corporate Field Auditor with another company. That basically means I travel the entire continental United States, I'm in a different state every week and two cities within that state every week. I do spend a lot of time in airports, airplanes and hotels, but I do find plenty of time to see the sites as well. I've seen so many things and visited so many places that I never imagined I would see, it has been an awesome journey.
UPDATE 11/01/05 - I have once again changed jobs, I am now an operations manager with Home Depot and will be an area loss prevention manager in the next six months, I can hardly wait. Loss prevention has been a passion for me since I first went to work for Dillards eight years ago. I have excelled at it and have been trained by a team of former FBI investigators how to interview and interrogate known criminals, I will be training in CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) in March '06. It has been very rewarding, interesting, and even thrilling to follow a criminal and build a case against someone. There is some sort of satisfaction in knowing that I have been able to build so many cases that lead to prosecution and civil recovery.
