Yanila's Story
Life
You can say that since leaving DC, my life has been one of survival. And thanks to my mother I have had the strength and courage to always push forth and be the best that I can be. I have never given up. It's been through my strong faith and convictions that I have always believed that tomorrow would be better and in fact it has because I was blessed with two lovely daughters. Presently, I am divorced and live with two adult daughters, Jaimie (23) and Jobeth (21) in a condominium in Miami. Despite raising my daughters on my own, I have been able to instill in them good values that have led them to always believe in themselves and never give up. Today, Jaimie has a master's degree in psychology and teaches at a school and Jobeth has a bachelor's degree in English and is also teaching at a school. Jobeth plans to go back for her masters in January...Expand for more
of 2007. The three of us have always been together and have been there for each other. I have not only been their mother but a friend, someone whom they can always rely on.
As for me, I did get my Master Degree from Barry University and was employed for the state for about 14 years; however, privatization led me to seek a job in the private sector. Presently, I am the Licensing Supervisor for a company called, Neighbor to Family. I like my job as I am recruit, train and retain foster and adoptive families for foster children. I feel a special feeling inside knowing that I have been able to save a child from abuse, neglect and/or abandonment from their parents. I am making a difference in their lives.
As for my lovelife, not married yet but have faith that I will soon. But that does not matter because I have been blessed in so many ways!
