zaida's Story
Hi, I was known as one of the "Maldonado" sisters. Carmen Maldonado is my sister. Janet & Nancy Maldonado are sisters and no relation to us.
I dated Hector Nunez, the saxophone player for the "Soul Medallions" at that time. We were married and we have a wonderful son Hector Jr. Hector Jr. is the father to my precious gifts from God, Sarah Elizabeth (19) & Madeline Grace (15).
I have two more wonderful and amazing sons, William Martin and Robert James.
William is in the Marine Corp 16 plus years. I am proud and blessed that he chose to represent and defend our country. William is the father my my grandson, Robert Louis and the newest addition, only 2 months old, Audrey Rae.
I am also a proud "abuelita" to my youngest grandson , Robert Scott Zahorak. He is 7. My daughter-in-laws are the daughters I never had.
I moved from Chicago into the Northwest suburbs when Hector Jr. Was 5. In 2013 I moved to North Dakota and lived there for 8 years. In 2020 I moved to Iowa and lived there shy of 3 years. Currently, I reside on the beautiful island of Hawaii with my husband, Guy Merker.
Unfortunately, I don't remember too many people from High School, only the two I hung around with; Sonia G...Expand for more
onzalez and Eva Conti.
I am a devout Christian woman. The Lord is the Lord of my life. The woman I am today is because of God's unconditional Love, Mercy and Grace.
My hero was my mother. I became a survivor because of her example. I don't sweat the small stuff and I try to deal with the hard times with wisdom, PRAYER!
My boys keep me in check with technology! Love it!
If I won $100 million, I'd spend a percentage of it on people that have dental, housing and clothing needs.
I used to sneak into my friends dorm and spend nights there. We had some great times!
My current age is 69. When I was 12, I thought that people my age were old. I was so completely mistaken!. Age is just a number and a state of mind.
My best friend would describe me as crazy funny and a loyal friend.
Eva Conti and I were close in HS. The few times we've crossed paths, it was as if our friendship had never changed.
My first job was at a drapery shop on Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, where I got paid $2.50 to 3.00/hr. What I remember most my job is trying to learn to speak polish with the sales ladies.
Unfotunately, during my freshman year, my secret "crush" Carmelo Guerina, was killed at a party. I was devistated.
