I am excited to give you an update on our 50th anniversary class reunion next year. Thank you to all who filled out my questionnaire on your preferences for this gathering. I tried to take your views into consideration of the date and price of the dinner. The reunion date is Saturday, July 22nd at the AmericInn in Janesville. The preference for July vs August was virtually the same for each so I chose the 22nd to put it further away from the 4th of July and also closer to the month of August. The last Saturday of July is right before the Rock County 4H fair which is also a busy time for many people so I did not choose the 29th. The meal will be an Italian buffet with several main course choices. I will announce the price when I begin registrations in March. Most people wanted a meal price under $40, so I am trying to keep the cost reasonable. I am planning to do the registration process online rather than mailing forms and getting checks from you. I will be setting up a tribute website which will have a form online to fill out and a payment system so you can purchase your tickets and make your wishes known. This website will also contain the classmate updates. I want it to become a living memorial to all classmates, living and dead. Hopefully you will be able to provide biographical information to post so that other classmates can read what you are doing. I realize that Classmates.com has these features as well but it is a paid site and I am not impressed with the way the site handles people’s memories and pictures.
