Yolanda Pierre spent her entire 36 year teaching career at Poe Elementary, 20 years of first grade and 16 years of kindergarten before retiring in May 2011. A reunion of former Miss Pierre students and parents is being planned as part of Poe's annual Carnival on Saturday October 29, 11am - 3pm.
