Great News !!! – As they say, “Back by Popular Demand”: Things are shaping up for a Lincoln ’71, 50+3yr Class Reunion this summer. As of now, it looks like: Friday, August 2nd, 4p-8p Time Out Sports Bar & Grill - Meet in the game room. (Half price Happy Hour 4p-6p.) Saturday, August 3rd, 4p-8p The Stage Door Pub – Our Private Party (Cocktails 4p. Pizza Garden delivered 6p.) NOTES: These were the 2 well-attended events from last year. We will not be scheduling formal Sat. daytime activities (Lincoln tour, lunch, or other activities.) At last August’s 50+2yr, most had the scheduling flexibility, wisdom, and perhaps thirst to attend both nights. I like the 4p-8p timeslots because classmates, at least within the NE Wis. neighborhood, that have dinner and/or evening conflicts, can drop by for an hour or 2 before, and likewise, those with afternoon and/or dinner conflicts can come by after. I hate to “break it” to y’all, but we are of an age that’s beyond many of us “closing” the bars (I even had to look it up. It’s 2:30 am weekends.) Also, many have drives home out of town. Nonetheless, I expect the parties to again continue beyond 8p. Time Out serves food until 9p and drinks as long as people are buying. Using last year as a general guide for this next reunion Fri., 1/3 left by 8p, another 1/3 by 9:30p, and the few photos I posted were of the party-hardiest after 9:30p, with the last of us leaving at 11:00p. I captured all but 2 or 3 in photos from The Stage Door last reunion Sat., with the last photos just after 10p. The last of us left about 12mn. A few of Lane’s regulars will again be allowed to drift in late. Attend if you can. It’s a logical time, being half-way between the Big 50+1 reunion we had and a potential 55yr. NOW, August 2&3, is exactly 2 months away. REUNION 50+3, "The Midway Reunion", is where the Manty Lincoln Class of '71, will gather to celebrate reaching 71 !!! Steve
