Dear NBHS Classmates of 1970, When COVID, at last, appeared to be under control, a small informal group of our classmates began planning our delayed 50th Reunion and I've provided the updates from them. They decided to continue holding our class reunion on the Thanksgiving weekend of this year. This decision made sense, as many classmates still have family in the New Britain area and might visit for the holiday. Then the COVID Variant began to slowly appear, but this group remained hopeful that it might not affect the plans for our Reunion. As this situation eventually started to escalate rapidly, I attempted to contact members of this limited committee. I have just spoken to a member of this small group and was definitively told that a decision was made to postpone our Reunion to the Thanksgiving weekend of 2022. I'm more than sorry for not being able to obtain this needed information much earlier. I eventually chose to discuss our situation with my identical twin daughters, as they are both active duty Medical Providers in the US Navy. Earlier this year, a formal naval social event was held. Military members plus their spouses or significant others were required to provide written proof of their immunization or have evidence of a negative COVID test performed less than 24 hours before the event. All members of the military must now be immunized. But their original protocol might be helpful to us if any concerns about COVID remained in 2022. All the classmates who have contacted me indicated that they would prefer to delay our Reunion rather than cancel it. Therefore, I am volunteering to be more actively involved with the committee and I'm collecting our classmate's contact information plus any other classmate's contact information that you may have.
