Dr. Kendrick Kang-Joh “Ken” Jeong (born July 13, 1969) is an actor, comedian, and physician. He graduated from Walter Hines Page Senior High School, in Greensboro, NC, in 1986, at age 16. While at Page, Jeong excelled as a student and participated in many activities, including Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club, and French Honor Society. He was also one of a small group of Outstanding Seniors. Jeong went to medical school – and is a licensed physician – but was already working on stand-up comedy as he was completing his residency. After winning a comedy competition in 1995 – and receiving encouragement from his wife several years later – Jeong got serious about comedy and acting. After his film debut in Knocked Up, he stopped practicing medicine and turned to acting and comedy on a full-time basis. Other acting projects have included Pineapple Express, all three Hangover movies, the series Community, and a starring role in the semi-autobiographical series Dr. Ken (for which he is also creator, writer, and executive producer).
