Hey everyone! 1971 was such a long time ago, although it seems like some of my most cherished memories happened yesterday! I left Parkway in my senior year and moved back to Florida where I finished high school. From there, I moved to Orlando and worked at Disney World, in which I met a lot of interesting and rude people...this job was certainly an eye-opener...go to college!!! However, my eye wasn't quite opened for college; just not yet. It took a few more mindless jobs to get there. In the meantime, I met my husband, had a child, stayed at home, became a Brownie Leader, and the list goes on...blah, blah, blah. Now my eyes were completely open...go to college!!! The day my daughter started first grade, I too, started school. I went to University of Central Florida and years later received my degree in English, Creative Writing. With this degree, I became a technical writer for many different venues but settled down in the telecommunications industry...writing user & training manuals. When you write these manuals, you become the expert on the subject, thus with my "gift of gab" and unwanted knowledge, I began teaching switch engineers how to install & configure their equipment. This role landed me in London and Australia for many months...I LOVED every minute. It was a wonderful experience, however, somewhere between countries my marriage seemed to have ended. After my divorce, I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. It's funny, years before this move, I taught a seminar at Duke University and I was walking back to the hotel and mentioned to myself that if I ever got laid off, I would love to move to NC...well, don't you know, two years later, here I was mo...Expand for more
