Jill's Story
Boy what a hippie wannabe I was. Who would have thought I'd work for the "Establishment" for almost 20 years!
It has certainly been a long strange trip...and still more to come and more adventures to look forward to.
One marriage..didn't last long. Two kids...my son is married and they have two dogs...two of my three "grandpuppies" that we all refer to as the "girls"...my daughter lives with me due to her health issues and shares her remaining Rottweiler , my other grandpuppy, with me..Duke thinks he's still 2 years old despite his bad hips, we just don't tell him he's really a 10 year old "puppy".
Well, make that 23 years with the "establishment". I'm retired now and living in ChandlerAZ now. I lost my daughter and Duke within two months of each other then my son deployed to Afghanistan. Once ...Expand for more
he came home I decided to retire and move closer to him and his wife and my two grandpuppies. I have another dog now...Luke...I didn't choose his name...and we hang out together a lot. He keeps me busy and entertained when he's not driving me crazy. I am closer to friends and family too. I'm privileged to watch the next generation of Oehler's growing up now! With another one due to arrive in a couple of weeks. It's been fun watching the first one. I recently went on an a vacation to Alaska. I was able to stay on the base where my Dad was stationed and where I was born. It was so cool to have my sister showing me places that I'd heard my Mom & Dad or siblings talk about or seen slides or home movies. It still seems odd...is it a vacation if you are retired? Whatever it was called it was awesome!
