Lillian's Story
LIFE
Since MHS I graduated from CSULA in Bus Ed. I worked in finance positions continuously from 1968 to August 2006 when I retired after 30 years at Northrop Grumman Corp. I worked 25 years on the B-2 Bomber program in various positions. I received my MBA while working at Northrop. My husband Marv of 22 years passed away in January 2015. I have a son & daughter from my first marriage and two stepsons from my husband Marvin. After Marvin's death I moved from Saugus, CA, to Carlsbad, CA to be near my son and his family. I have had three canine companions -- two Dobermans and a Weimeraner -- who are all now in doggie heaven. We adopted a shelter dog in 2012 -- another Doberman who keeps me company since my husband's passing.
My daughter Virginia is married with two daughters and is moving from Santa Cruz, CA to Carlsbad, CA in May 2018.. My son Patrick is married with a son and a daughter and lives in Carlsbad, CA where I moved in October 2015.
After my retirement in August 2006 I have been busy as president of a non-profit, Czech/Slovak heritage organization, Sokol Los Angeles. I was editor of our semi-annual newsletter for several years. Sokol LA celebrates with annual social events and attends various cultural events around town.

our MHS Class of 1963 45-year and 50-year class reunions -- great opportunities to reacquaint with classmates and friends from high school. Thanks to Laura Foley for pulling the planning committee together for both events and for keeping us focused on our goals. We enjoyed good food, great atmosphere, and lots of catching up. I look forward to celebrating at our 55-year reunion in 2018 at Santa Anita races and Monrovia Day. 2018 is a busy year for me as I will also be visiting Prague, Czech Republic in July 2018 with my Sokol Los Angeles group..
REMINISCING. . .
When I was growing up, those who knew me well knew that I lived with a guardian, Aunt Lydia, and her husband, Uncle George. Uncle George was a great inspiration to me, always encouraging me to do well with my studies and in playing the violin. Both Aunt Lydia and Uncle George were great influences on who I ultimately became and the many successes I have experienced. I will never forget them and what they did for me. It was difficult for me as a child not living with my parents, but opportunities were opened to me that I would not otherwise have had. Thanks to Uncle George and the great investment savvy he shared with me, I have a comfortable retirement. He's always been looking out for me.
