OCTOPUS IS BACK! Not Zoom or Go To Meeting or Facetime or any other virtual party. This is the real thing. On Saturday afternoon, July 23, 2022, unless there is a blizzard or a hurricane (what are the odds?), Octopus is opening for In The Groove (Long Island's top dance band) at the Oakdale Yacht Marina. Octopus will rock the dock with 8 HHH grads from the 1970's, 10 including an additional saxaphonist and percussionist. Octopus will play for 90 minutes, starting at 5:00PM at the Oakdale Yacht Marina Tiki Bar, featuring classic rock from the 70's. Songs you will recognize include selections from Chicago, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Doobies, Doors, Eagles, Santana, Bruce & more. The members of Octopus are: John Bastianelli (class of 1976); Bennett Fisher ('74); Dr. John Grosso ('74); Bill Harts ('74); Mike Reilly ('72); John Spreer ('74); Mike Ward ('74) and Dr. Paul Weber ('74). Special guests Tommy Grosso ('69) and Bill Joseph ('76) will also join us. Then, from 7 to 10, In The Groove takes the stage. so be ready to dance the night away. In the Groove features 3 HHH alums: Andy Giammalvo, class of '73; Joseph Giammalvo, class of 2002 and Jacklyn Casano Hashim, class of 2004. And, a couple of Octopudlians may sit in for a few tunes. The Tiki Bar is covered, but open on the sides. Neither rain nor COVID will keep us away this time. This will be the biggest reunion party ever. Admission is free; plenty of parking, food and drink. After the music stops, we'll all go to the diner and talk about everyone who doesn't go to the diner (or, maybe we'll discuss all of our aches, pains and medications).
