Anne Hampton “Annie” Potts (born October 28, 1952) is a film and television actress. She graduated from Franklin-Simpson High School, in Franklin, Kentucky, in 1970, where she was active in cheerleading and speech. A young Annie Potts was also elected Miss FSHS her senior year.

Potts’ first movie role was in 1978, in Corvette Summer. She is probably best known for her roles in the original Ghostbusters movies and the series Designing Women. Potts’ other numerous projects have included Pretty In PinkToy Story (and Toy Story 2), and the series Love & War and Any Day Now.

Genie Award for Best Performance by a Foreign Actress for Heartaches. 1981
