Diane Sawyer (born Lila Diane Sawyer; December 22, 1945) is a television journalist. She graduated with the class of 1963 from Seneca High School in Louisville, Kentucky. In high school, Sawyer was the editor-in-chief of her school’s yearbook as well a writer for the school’s newspaper publication. She was also a member of the national honor society, a cheerleader, and basketball queen. Her senior year Sawyer won the America Junior Miss pageant and was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by her class. Sawyer is best known for her award-winning work as a television news correspondent. Sawyer has worked as a White house press aide, assistant to President Nixon, and has been an anchor for news sources like CBS, 60 Minutes, 20/20, Good Morning America, and ABC.
