John Arthur Lithgow (born October 19, 1945) is an American actor, musician, and author. He graduated with the class of 1963 from Princeton High School in Princeton, New Jersey. In high school, he was part of the Drama club. In 1973, Lithgow began his career by starring in the Broadway play, The Changing Room. Lithgow is best known for his role of Dick Solomon in 3rd Rock from the Sun. Lithgow has also starred in the hit TV series, Dexter, How I met Your Mother, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. Lithgow has also authored several bestselling books and music albums for children.
