Scottie Maurice Pippen (born September 25, 1965) is a former professional basketball player. He graduated with the class of 1980 from Hamburg High School, in Hamburg, Arkansas, where he was a member of the school’s basketball and track teams. Pippen made his NBA rookie debut in 1987, playing for the Chicago Bulls. He gradually developed into one of the best small forwards in NBA history as well as a defensive powerhouse. In both 1992 and 1996, he was selected to play for the United States men’s Olympic basketball team. The 1992 Olympic team, nicknamed the Dream Team, went on to win the gold medal while defeating all of its opponents by an average of 44 points. Pippen played 11 seasons with the Chicago Bulls, a season with the Houston Rockets, and four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers before returning to Chicago for one final season. He retired from the NBA in 2004, and the Bulls retired his number (33) the following year.
