Francis “Frank” Newton Gifford (August 16, 1930 – August 9, 2015) was an American football player and television sportscaster. He graduated with the class of 1948 from Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield, California. In high school, he was a star football player and helped win the Valley Championship his senior year. He also excelled on the basketball court as a star player. He is best known as a Pro Football Hall of Fame football player with a 13-year career playing for the New York Giants. He was married to television host Kathie Lee Gifford.
