Jonathan Daniel “Jon” Hamm (born March 10, 1971) is an actor, director, and television producer. He graduated from John Burroughs High School in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1989.

It took Hamm a while to get traction in the acting world. A young Jon Hamm finally got his big break with a recurring role on the series Providence in 2000 (and subsequently quitting his job waiting tables). Other roles followed, and he finally got his big acting breakthrough when he was cast as Don Draper in the highly acclaimed series Mad Men in 2007. He received many accolades in this role, which lasted until the series ended in 2015.

Other notable performances have included The Town, Bridesmaids, and recurring appearances in 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (with award nominations for all of those projects).

  • Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama for Mad Men. 2008
