Stephen's Story

Well, after I squeaked by at Thurston I met my wife at Detroit Bible college and we married in 1969..and still are!!! 40 years later we have one son and three grandsons. I retired from 30+ years at Ford Motor in 2000. We moved up north to Indian River the same year. We snowmobile in the winter and boat in the summer and go to Tennessee to visit her family in between. We help her folks around the house so they can keep living at home. My parents are both passed on. I can say that I had a ball at Thurston. I have no regrets about any part of my life. I miss all the gang from Christian Club and Choir. Especially the Ovitt brothers and Steve Camarata(God rest his soul) and crazy Ed Parisot. I remember driving around ...Expand for more
for hours with Rick Schwendenmann down Telegraph. I had a ball singing with a small band led by Mark Fortin. Beach Boys and Monkey'songs. I did the lead on the "Bloody Red Barron". How could I ever forget the Hootenany we put on!!?? I could go on for hours. Suffice it to say they were fantastic and blessed years. My faith is stronger than ever and I've had a fantastic, blessed 59 years...and counting. Where has the time gone?? My hair is still red, what's left of it, but the beard has gone white. I'm not bald but let's just say thining at spots. As you can tell by my photo I'm....not starving. We had a massive class in '68 so I know I don't remember every name but give me a note and let's see what I do remember.
