The 9th Annual THS Summer Picnic will again be at Island Lake Recreation Area in Brighton on August 26, 2023! The Hickory Shelter has been reserved and the Shelter (and surrounding area) provides a huge, private space to be socially distant! There are no other groups nearby and there is ample space around the shelter, so bring a lawn chair if you would like to. Once inside the park, go straight ahead to the very end and the Shelter is on the left. This is a covered Shelter, so we will be there, rain or shine! The shelter is in a very shaded area and there is a nice breeze from the lake below, so it is always very pleasant, even on a warm day! This is a very informal get together, with everyone bringing their own food and beverages (alcohol is permitted in the shelter). The grill will be going this year (charcoal, cooking utensils, mustard/ketchup, and foil will be provided). Tablecloths and hand sanitizer will also be provided. The State Park Pass on your license plate (or a Disabled Veteran plate) gets you free entry into the park; otherwise, there is a fee.. The picnics are a great way to reconnect with old friends and make a few new ones.
