Edward Harrison Norton (born August 18, 1969) is an actor, filmmaker, and activist. He is a 1987 graduate of Wilde Lake High School, in Columbia, MD, where he was a member of the varsity baseball team. Norton made a big impression in his first year of professional acting (1996), appearing in three films (Primal Fear, Everyone Says I Love You, and The People vs. Larry Flynt) and winning accolades for all performances. He has continued to impress audiences in films such as American History X, Birdman, Fight Club, Red Dragon, Kingdom of Heaven, The Illusionist, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. His directorial debut was Keeping the Faith (2000), in which he also acted. Norton is also very active in supporting environmental and social causes, particularly renewable energy, affordable housing, and the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.
