Steven John “Steve” Carell (born August 16, 1963) is an American actor and comedian. He attended Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. In high school, Carell was active in sports, playing on the hockey team, soccer team, and lacrosse team. He first appeared on The Dana Carvey Show which eventually led to a feature on Saturday Night Live and a correspondent for The Daily Show. This exposure led to him being cast in his most noted role as Michael Scott in The Office. Carell has gone on to star in many movies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Get Smart, and Foxcatcher. He also has provided the voices of animated characters in Over the Hedge, Despicable Me, and Despicable Me 2.
