Derek Sanderson Jeter (born June 26, 1974) is an American professional athlete and former shortstop in Major League Baseball. He attended Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In high school, a young Derek Jeter played basketball.
Jeter is best known as shortstop for the New York Yankees, where he won five World Series Championship titles.
