Who is Kevin James?

Throughout high school and college, Kevin was an avid athlete. But, a few career-ending injuries put a stop to his sporting goals. Back home in the summer of 1989, Kevin joined a community theatre play with a comedic role. He ended up loving the energy and positive response from the audience, which put him on the path of live performances, and, subsequently, stand-up comedy.
He became a part of his older brother’s improv group, realized he was quite good at the comedy thing, and began performing stand-up comedy at the East Side Comedy Club in 1989. He adopted the surname “James” as his stage name, to pay homage to his favorite teacher.

Unfortunately, a severe back injury ended Kevin’s wrestling days, putting Foley at the top.
