Jackson Browne (born Clyde Jackson Browne; October 9, 1948) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He graduated with the class of 1966 from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, California. In 1966, Browne burst onto the scene with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The band would eventually go on to record some of Browne’s songs, including These Days, Holding, and Shadow Dream Song. Throughout the years, Browne has produced a total of 14 albums. In addition to his musical career, Browne has also been an activist for a variety of causes. During the 1980’s, Browne performed at several benefit concerts for organizations such as Farm Aid, Amnesty International, and the Christic Institute.
