He was 80. Throughout his career, and in his personal life, he touched so many people – friends, family, colleagues, students, athletes, and many others in the Palo Alto community. He was an incredible coach, teacher, and mentor; and a “dad” not only to his family, but to many aspiring young athletes, having coached varsity football, track, and wrestling for 35 years combined at both Cubberley (1964-1979) and Gunn (1979-1999) High Schools.
